Repair or replacement by the manufacturer, depending on brand and model.
Rainbow Solar's own workmanship warranty on wiring, mounting and installation.
This policy explains the warranties that come with a Rainbow Solar rooftop system and our rules for cancellations and refunds. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. The exact brands, models and warranty periods for your system are listed in your quotation and on the warranty card we hand over at commissioning. If they differ from this page, your quotation and warranty card apply.
All warranty periods start from the date your system is commissioned. We register your panels and inverter with the manufacturers for you, so you don't need to do any paperwork.
We install only Tier-1, ALMM-listed panels from approved manufacturers. Each panel carries two manufacturer warranties:
The manufacturer guarantees that your panels will keep producing a minimum share of their rated power for 25 years, with up to 30 years on select premium TOPCon and bifacial panels. A typical linear guarantee looks like this:
| Panel age | Guaranteed minimum output* |
|---|---|
| End of year 1 | About 97–98% of rated power |
| End of year 10 | About 90% of rated power |
| End of year 25 | About 80–87% of rated power |
*Exact figures depend on the panel brand and model and are stated on the manufacturer's warranty certificate.
If a panel produces less than the guaranteed output, the manufacturer will repair it, replace it, or supply additional panels to make up the shortfall, as per its warranty terms. Rainbow Solar will test the panel, raise the claim and handle the replacement for you.
Covers defects in materials and manufacturing, such as delamination, junction-box failure, frame defects or cell cracks not caused by external damage.
Inverters carry a manufacturer warranty of 5 to 10 years, depending on the brand and model in your quotation. Some brands offer optional extended warranties, which we can arrange at extra cost. During the warranty, a faulty inverter is repaired or replaced by the manufacturer. We coordinate the service visit and, where possible, help keep your downtime short.
For hybrid and off-grid systems, batteries are covered by the battery manufacturer's warranty, typically 5 years for lithium batteries and 2–3 years for lead-acid batteries. Battery warranties may also be limited by the number of charge cycles or the energy delivered, as stated by the manufacturer.
Rainbow Solar gives its own 5-year workmanship warranty from the date of commissioning. It covers:
Under this warranty we will repair or redo the faulty work free of charge, including parts and labour.
Please keep your invoice and warranty card safe. You will need them for any claim.
You can cancel your order by writing to us by email or WhatsApp. The amount refunded depends on how far your order has progressed:
| When you cancel | Refund |
|---|---|
| Within 7 days of booking, before any material is ordered | Full refund of the booking advance |
| After 7 days, before material is ordered or dispatched | Booking advance refunded, less non-refundable charges (see below) |
| After material is ordered or dispatched, before installation | Amount paid, less material, transport and restocking costs |
| After installation has started or been completed | Not eligible for cancellation. Warranty and service terms apply |
We may also cancel an order and refund the amount paid (less costs already incurred) if your site turns out to be unsafe or unsuitable, or if required approvals are refused for reasons outside your control.
The PM Surya Ghar subsidy is paid by the government directly to your bank account and is not part of our invoice. A delay, reduction or rejection of the subsidy is not a reason for a refund once your system is installed, but we will help you follow up with the authorities. If you cancel before installation, any subsidy application filed for you will be withdrawn.
If you sell your property, the remaining warranty passes to the new owner. Just inform us in writing with the new owner's details so we can update our records and the manufacturers' registrations.
